Treatability Testing

Treatability studies provide an opportunity to evaluate and optimize site-specific remediation performance variables in a controlled laboratory setting. SiREM technical experts have performed hundreds of treatability studies, for a wide variety of contaminant mixtures and remediation technologies, that demonstrate the strong correlation between laboratory treatability study observations and what can be achieved "in the field".



Bench-scale biotreatability studies provide answers for site remediation questions that are often too expensive, risky or complex to test directly in the field.

The professionals at SiREM are experts at performing biotreatability studies for a wide variety of contaminants. SiREM routinely performs technically challenging anaerobic studies that maintain the activities of oxygen sensitive microorganisms using specialized protocols and anaerobic chambers. SiREM biotreatability studies are designed as replicated controlled experiments that provide a high level of data integrity and interpretability. SiREM's interpretative reports summarize data and place results in a site remediation context for use by our customers in remedy selection and optimization.


In Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO)

In situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) offers the potential for rapid removal of contaminants when correctly applied. SiREM offers a range of products and services to assess the potential for, and to optimize, ISCO remediation approaches.
